I've never read any Piers Anthony. Any one have any suggestions on what to start with?

Piers Anthony is aswesome! And if you like him, he has about 438,908,710 books so you'll probably never run out. I really liked his 'Incarnations of Immortality' series, starting with On A Pale Horse. His 'Xanth' series, starting with A Spell for Chameleon is also very good.
Enjoy!
Well, if you like fantasy more than science fiction, the Xanth series is definitely a good place to start. It's light and easy to read.
However, if you want some good old hard core science fiction, there is an old trilogy made up of 3 books called "Omnivore", "Orn", and "Ox" that are great. "Battle Circle" is sort of barbaric science fiction, and also great. "Macroscope" is a fantastic science fiction book! "Firefly" is sort of erotic science fiction. But my absolute favorite is the Cluster series. This is also an old series. It's made up of 5 books - "Cluster", "Chaining the Lady", "Kirlian Quest", "Thousandstar", and "Viscous Circle". "Macroscope" is set in the same world.
I have read a TON of Piers Anthony! (Mostly the Xanth series because there are just so darn many of them!) If you have any questions about any of them in particular, let me know - I might have read them! :gnome:
I was always a big fan of the Blue Adept series. It's a nice mix of magic and technology that starts with Split Infinity. I suppose I was drawn to the idea of someone having hidden potential.
And "On a Pale Horse" from his Incarnations of Imortality was great. A man about to commit suicide ends up killing Death and is forced to assume the office himself.

CB the Vampire
File under:
Books and Reading
I'm reading Bloody Bones by Laurell K. Hamilton. It's one of the books in the Anita Blake series. Jean Claude, a recurring Vampire, is reminding me a lot of CB for some reason. It's not just the love of black, though that helps, its the way the character tries to seduce the main character that reminds me of CB. It's the all gentleman, gorgeous, tall, dark and handsome. It's the black hair and the dark eyes. It's the charm, the power, the nonchalantnes and the elusiveness. And it's pissing me off because I don't want to think about CB. I don't want to want him to call. I don't want to think about what having sex with him was like. BASTARD. You Bloody Bastard. I think I'm the most mad because I still want him. I don't give a damn that he's married and it's sad that he has MS. But I still want him. I repeat CB, You are a bastard! And now I don't even have anyone I can sleep with to get rid of sexual frustration.
I want to go out but I have no life now and am sitting pathetically at home hoping someone will call. YEAH RIGHT.

GOD DAMN IT! I really fucking want him still and that's what making me so pissed. I could still have him in my bed if I had just kept my fucking mouth shut. I'm so fucking pissed and now he's never going to talk to me again and I'm sitting here alone on a Saturday night crying because I'm such a fucking moron and no one is ever going to want to be with me. DAMN IT! FUCK YOU CB for being so god damn sexy.

If I'm totally loving the book Forensics for Dummies. It's so awesome. Have I mentioned I'm insane? Actually last night on the metro ride home. some one asked me what I was reading because he had looked down at a page on what happens to bones when they're burnt. I was rather amused. Men seem confused when women show an interest in gory things. :-) Such a good way to frighten off the freaks

Me? A Fairy?

I'm currently reading a book by Tad Williams called War of the flowers. Its about aother world with faeries and such in it. A random character (who's a faery of some sort) has my name. Yes, if you know my name, that's really surprising as its extremely unusal. I was a bit stunned but just had to laugh.

That sucks. I've been interested in Bookmarks for some time now and am thinking of subscribing, have you tried Mental Floss? They have witty, usually short articles on history and all sorts of things without being boring. Well at least to me.
